The Storyteller Behind the Words
Born and raised in South Georgia, Fatima grew up on dirt roads, green tomatoes, and the kind of stories that linger long after they’re told. From childhood, she was captivated by the power of storytelling—whether in books, movies, music, or the old wives’ tales passed down through generations.
Her love for words shaped her path early on. Literature was always her favorite subject, a place where she could lose herself in stories and bring her own to life. She dreamed of becoming a journalist, inspired by the voices of great writers like Dr. Maya Angelou, Edgar Allan Poe, Zane, and Tyler Perry. But as life unfolded, her story took a different turn, leading her back to her first love—creative writing
She credits her parents, Lizzie and Mack, for nurturing her passion. “They would buy me the journals I wanted no matter how much they cost,” she recalls. That simple act of encouragement became the foundation for a lifelong love affair with storytelling.
